Oysters with cheese and bacon

Ingredients:

  • 12 Oysters on the half shell
  • 6 slice bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tbsp Tabasco sauce
  • 1 cup smoked Gruyère grated
  • 1 lemon sliced into quarters
  • 1 tbsp chives fresh and minced

Method:

  1. Cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon, and let drain.
  2. Wash all the oysters thoroughly.
  3. Shuck them and top each oyster with bacon, hot sauce and cheese.
  4. Heat the oven at 200˚C and place oysters in a cast-iron skillet.
  5. Broil until cheese is bubbly and brown. (Make sure to keep an eye on them, you don't want to overcook the oysters which should be moist.)
  6. Top with chives and lemon juice. enjoy!
