Zarzuela de Mariscos
Catalan Fish& Shellfish Stew Base
From the Catalan region of Spain. Zarzuela de mariscos is a tomato based fish & shellfish stew, made with cured ham, chorizo & the addition of ground almonds to give a deep richness to the dish. Generally eaten with shellfish such as mussels, crab, clams, shell on prawns, lobster all of which are simmered in the rich broth to give a truly unctuous seafood flavour.
Add your own selection of shellfish to create a spectacular seafood dish. Chunks of your favourite fish can also be added to suit your taste. Serve with crusty bread & plenty of lemon.

Tomato, onion, garlic, chilli, saffron, thyme, rosemary, chorizo(MILK)(8%), peppers, almonds(NUTS), fish stock(CELERY FISH)(9%), shellfish stock(CRUSTACEAN)(17%), mussel brae(MOLLUSC), white wine(SULPHITES), olive oil, parsley.
Cooking
For best results mix with chunks of white fish & shellfish i.e mussels, clams, shell on prawns, scallops, cod, monkfish, seabass, squid. Put all ingredients into a wide based saucepan, bring to a gentle simmer for 5 to 6 minutes until all fish is cooked. Check broth for seasoning & serve with crusty bread & wedges of fresh lemon.
Storage
Keep refrigerated and use within 3 days. Previously Frozen.Not suitable for freezing.
