Catalan Fish& Shellfish Stew Base
From the Catalan region of Spain. Zarzuela de mariscos is a tomato based fish & shellfish stew, made with cured ham, chorizo & the addition of ground almonds to give a deep richness to the dish. Generally eaten with shellfish such as mussels, crab, clams, shell on prawns, lobster all of which are simmered in the rich broth to give a truly unctuous seafood flavour.
Add your own selection of shellfish to create a spectacular seafood dish. Chunks of your favourite fish can also be added to suit your taste. Serve with crusty bread & plenty of lemon.
